Most Influential CEO Awards

Everyone at The Befriending Scheme is delighted to announce that our CEO, Shirley Moore, has been recognised in the CEO Monthly, Most Influential CEO Awards 2026. Shirley received the award for her outstanding leadership and commitment to supporting vulnerable people across Suffolk.

For more than three decades, Shirley has played a vital role in helping The Befriending Scheme grow and evolve. Under her leadership, The Befriending Scheme has continued to provide friendship and learning opportunities for vulnerable adults aged 16 and over, including people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and those experiencing isolation.

Today, The Befriending Scheme supports people across Suffolk, through its Hubs, befriending services, Out & About groups, youth groups and the Red Rose Community Farm in Lindsey Tye. TBS also offers volunteering opportunities and activities that help people build confidence, develop new skills, reduce isolation and form lasting friendships.

“I am incredibly honoured to receive this award. It reflects the dedication, passion and hard work of our staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters, who make such a difference to the lives of people across Suffolk every day.”

This award celebrates not only Shirley’s inspiring leadership, but also The Befriending Scheme’s ongoing mission to bring people together and create stronger, more connected communities.
