The Befriending Scheme invite you to attend their new Sudbury Cookery Group for adults with a learning disability. This group will run weekly on a Wednesday evening from 5.30PM until 7.30PM.

At this group, attendees can learn to cook new recipes from all over the world and then eat together, for just £5 per session.

An opportunity has arisen to be part of our exciting service provision in Lowestoft. The Befriending Scheme (TBS) is an established charity set up 30 years ago, to provide friendship and learning opportunities for vulnerable adults aged 16+.

We are looking for an energetic individual with the following knowledge and skills:

  • An understanding and experience of people with learning disabilities

  • Ability to manage group sessions      

  • Good organisational skills

  • Sensitive to the needs of others and ability to resolve difficult situations through tact and diplomacy

  • Able to work effectively on own initiative with minimal supervision   

  • Self-motivated         

  • Awareness of the principles of equal opportunities

  • Able to work flexibly as the project demands        

The successful candidate will work closely with the Area Co-Ordinator and will assist them in all aspects of running the groups on Fridays and also the community sessions on fortnightly evenings/weekends in line with the scheduled programme of services.
